Default Switching positive and negitive on a brushed motor?

Will this have a bad out come when switching the wires on the motor to change the rotation, it's a tekin 35t and fxr esc

Nope. But I'd adjust the timing a little to then favor forward a little more than reverse. Chances are if you've never touched the timing before it's at zero, and will spin about the same in both directions. I think you should make it (audibly) spin a hair faster in forward.

Ok, I had it advanced, before I switched it, in reverse now it takes off quick but forward it's nice and smooth

That means now the timing is retarded, I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's bad for the motor.

Not at all. It's when you start playing with timing advance is when you run into heat issues. 0* timing all the way to full retard will increase torque, runtime, and run cooler.
