Default Tekin Fxr 3s problem?

My ESC and motor get super hot when I run a 3s in my Wraith, not even after 5 mins of running it? It gets glitchy and jumps around? It has a 87t spur and 13t pinion with the stock 20t so I don't think gearing is the problem? No heat or glitching when I ran 2s? Any help will be super appreciated, thanks in advance.

Are you having any binding issues in the transmission or axles?

Are you running a external bec with your servo....that can create extra heat.

I would check in the Wraith section....a 20T motor & that gearing sounds high to me. High gearing (speed gearing) leads to a hot motor.

Yes, double check drivetrain binding & pinion/spur gear mesh, really sounds overgeared for that motor on 3S LiPO though.

Although I have a different esc, I'm running 14/87 on my wraith with a 35t tekin motor on 3s, my temps have been great so far..so it may b an overgearing issue, but the glitching is most likely from not having a bec..

sounds like the problem is the 20t motor. throw in a 35t or higher to test it, heat problem should go away.
also I believe the specs for the FXR are 35t or higher on 3s

There's some give there because we used to run two 35 turn motors on a single FXR on 3S with the old dig switches and a BEC. Meaning, about a 17.5 turn motor on 3S.

I really don't think its the motors fault either.
