| More wheelspeed for my crawler king
Hey guys i jus purchased the holmes hobbies waterproof brushed esc, and so far i dont see any difference than the stock esc besides the drag brak but the torque is still about the same and everything. Now my question is if i change the fireball 55t to a holmes hobbies 35t motor (dont kno which one yet) will i see way more performance out of the truck? I also need to switch to lipo but i want to get by with jus the motor swap.

The esc isn't going to give you more speed....the 35t will run a bit faster then a 55t though. Running a lipo pack isnt determined by what motor you run only the number of cells is.....your esc has to be compatible....most of the newer ones are! Last edited by jeepster73; 05-26-2013 at 05:14 PM. |

Im looking for torque im not really looking for a whole lot of speed, I have a 55t and can barely turn the tires when in a lil bind. Im looking to make the truck a trail/mud truck.

That HH Torquemaster will give you plenty of both....if you want more grunt, then get a 55 or 65t

ESC input voltage ESC (can it handle more input voltage) Motor (# of turns) Batteries (voltage & "punch") Gearing With a lower turn motor (35T vs. 55T), you can get more speed, torque can be added (speed lost) by changing gearing. Go to a larger spur or smaller pinion. Voltage, more volts + more power/speed. If you add volts, you change gearing, smaller pinion or larger spur (same as a lower turn motor). | |

| Re: More wheelspeed for my crawler king Currently, he sounds like he is overgeared, thus smaller pinion or larger spur would likely help torque, but drop speed. Going to a 35T really NEEDS to be regeared the same way, mostly due to the faster motor. Any regearing I've suggested would help the current 55T as well as a 35T....I NEVER said to speed up the gearing (larger pinion or smaller spur). |

Im saying that a HH 35t has more torque than his 55t fireball.. I wasnt even going to go into the subject gearing with the guy yet....i wasnt sure if he was familiar with motor basics yet....he has under 10 posts so I wanted to ease him into it. |
