Default Tekin rx8 help

after fitting my rs pro with a 21.5t motor into my boyer cage build i am needing more speed

i am running a rc4wd heavy duty gearbox and have gone to the max pinion and 3s lipo and still not enough speed

i have been offered a tekin rx8 with a 2050 motor but dont know how to work out the turns of this motor

is there a chart anywhere i can convert the kv to turns like on all my old motors

any help would be great

regards ian

Now i understand what your trying to do.

Can you find the KV rating of your 21.5? if you can multiply the KV rating by the amount of volts your putting thru it.

So the 2050 you have been offered, multiplied by say 11.1v(3s nominal voltage) gives a rpm value of 22755.

I'm going to assume your 21.5T is a Redline Gen1 motor. If so it's a 2100kv. Tekin has the KV ratings listed for each motor on there site.

Hello,
I know that everyone is just crazy over the 17.5 turn and the 21.5 turn, know get this, I have a 10.5 turn gen2 motor and it can climb a 90 degree wall with out it overheating and it didn't even stop it kept going, know if you are also into "slow 17.5 motors" then I would go with a 10.5 turn, I have that system on my axial wraith with a RS gen1 and it goes about 30 mph. Sorry, but I would strongly disagree with a 17.5 turn motor, they don't give much more torque than a 13.5 turn, which I use to own one of those gen1 13.5 turn motor and it was fast but not enough. And don't tell me your going with a RX8 I would get a mamba max pro or a mamba monster 2 pro 1/10 scale or 1/8 scale system your decision. But just to let you know you can run up to 6s on that mmp but on a tekin motor only up to 3s. don't get me wrong I run tekin system's a lot but sometimes you got to drop tekin for a castle, I read something about a 13.5 turn and a 17.5 turn and the guy sed he should have gone with the 13.5 just because it has a lot more power than a 17.5 they are not really fast as people think, or I am just thinking my wraith is really fast Idk, but In my traxxas slash 4x4 ultimate I put a castle creations mamba max pro sct system with the 1415 motor, a lot of power against other system. But its your choice really, that's just my opinion, but tekin is good and castle is good as well. Hope this helps - axial 4x4 crawler

well i have now bit the bullet and got the tekin rx8 as it came at a good price

1st problem was the pinion that came with it would not fit the heavy duty rc4wd gearbox so after a search about i have now got a 13t pinion

so i am going to fit it with that and see how it goes

thanks for the input folks

will get back to you all when its fitted

cheers ian
