I got a sort of side project budget wraith build going on. Savox SW0231MG STD Waterproof Digital Servo Just placed an order from rpp and decided to pull the trigger on this budget waterproof metal gear servo. I LOVE savox servos in my race vehicles!! I think they are great and instead of overrating torque and speed I think sometimes their servos are underrated. In the first honcho I owned and abused in LOTS of water I used a cheapo savox 0251. filled it with dielectric grease and even ran voltage at 7v. Thing ran like a beast!! I am gonna start with this guy in my wraith and maybe move it to my honcho if it's too weak for the big 2.2 tires. I want to bump voltage up a bit at a time to see what it can handle. Anyone out there pick one up yet? didn't see any feedback or reviews anywhere. for 44 bucks it seems like a great deal to me. |

Can't wait to hear reviews. I currently have 2 SA-1231sg's but, looking at the SW-1210sg. These seem to be a wp version of what I have with a brushed motor instead of coreless.

I took a good hard look at that one for my Wraith. My concern on it was the torque rating @ 7.4V seemed a little too weak for what I'm trying to accomplish. I went with a much more expensive Savox 1268SG which is rated as "water-resistant". I'm not going to be submarining the rig so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. What is the torque rating of this particular servo? Looks like a killer replacement for my 4x4 Slash.

In my opinion, the servo you mentioned would be right at home in a scaler, 1.55 or 1.9. If you plan on doing some water crossings and not a lot of time in the rocks it'd be perfect. That being said, seriously considering a few for my scale rig builds.

Just got mine today. I installed it and..well...I need to install a BEC...LOL. It draws enough that the stock internal BEC in the Axial AE2 can't keep up...installed the Castle BEC and it works awesome. I've also got the new waterproof sw1210sg on its way too for Wraith...and I better get a BEC for that too.

| Re: savox waterproof servo. sw-0231WP if your definatley thinking about getting this servo make sure you get a bec though i will say a bec doe`snt always work with them. my mate had two break down on him on the same day one was about 6 month old the other one was brand new and mine decided to die last week and i was`nt runinng a bec though all three same to have had bad boards in them according to the guy at savox
