| Scx10 LED light help needed.
Ok fellas this is all new to me. I just sold my SC10 that I've been racing for a couple of years. I am going to be ordering the Jeep Rubicon RTR in the next couple of days and was wondering if you guys could help me with what Light Kit I should buy. I found this one: http://bit.ly/USmZKK But I have no clue why it's so cheap or what the "catch" could be with this setup. Is this better or worse than the Axial LED kit w/simple controller? Also why is it called a "simple controller?? Thanks for the help. Can't wait to be a scaler/crawler guy. Got really tired of buying racing tires and paying fees. |

Axial's "simple" kit is called that because it's the simplest one they sell. 4 whites and 2 reds. No way to control on/off except to unplug them or buy something like HeyOK's light controller. No clue why that one is so cheap, except maybe you found an honest seller on the bay. Looks like a decent kit but, I have no experience with that brand. The amount of LEDs, alone, at that price seems cheap, though! |

Thanks KJ10, that's what I thought too. I will try to dig a little more, but unless I find a red flag I'll probably go ahead and buy that kit. I can set that up where I turn them off and on with the radio or will they just always be on when the truck is on?

Like I said, I have no experience with that brand. Let us know how it works out.

That looks like a great find, in fact. As long as the LED's hold up well enough, I might have to look into one of those for my future rubicon build.

I've got a similar kit, 10LED flashy kit, on my TWH and it works fine. It's bulky, the module and all the LED wires, but you can route the wires along the frame. It's cheap because it's coming from Japan. |

Yeah I did see that Japan was its location, but I've never let that scare me away from a good deal. I bought my MT-4 from HobbyKing's Japan warehouse for $189 when it was still $300 everywhere else. It took almost 3 weeks to get here......but it was really worth the money saved.

My experience from buying from overseas has been very positive aside from very lengthy shipping. Most our R/C stuff comes from the same manufacturer. For example I bought the Dick Cepik wheels from the supplier direct in China for about 60% less. Didn't come in the fancy packaging, and didn't have the logo, but they are the exact same product. These companies just manufacture to the specifics of their client. Buying from them direct via ebay has been quite a good deal. |

I have not had experience with that light system, but I love my RC lights Turn brake. 6 headlights, 4 tail lights, and 4 turn signals. Working turn signals and brake lights. You only need to assemble everything, unless the full kit fits your truck. I just bought the controller and LEDs because the kit didn't have the right size LEDs.

I'm at the same stage as you. Bought the 3racing kit and just trying to figure out how to mount. I have the bezel but they don't look right on the modern bodies.

Just picked a set of these up, thanks to the link! I just couldn't resist the price. I cant imagine a better deal. 16$ shipped to your door! We'll see how they do. If anyone has installed these fully or partially, I would love to see some pics or hear how they have been working andf if there is a comparison to some of the other options. I've ordered a few things outta china... damn that slow boat took nearly a month to get here. But everything I've ever placed order on... eventually arrived. Might as well start on something else while you wait !? Lol |

I've read good things about these kits, but I have no experience with them. It will be nice if you post a review.

I have the same kit installed on my scx10 rubicon kit. The fog lights flash when you drive forward and they turn off when you drive in reverse. The turn signals work when you turn. I'm only using 2 of the 6 lights that go in the rear of the vehicle. Led light kit. - YouTube |

Thanks for posting! Good to know about how the lights function . Well I just got my set in this weekend. Shipping time was reasonable. About 7 days! not bad. Sorry others had a different experience. Hope to get them installed soon. Don't think I'm gonna put em all in.. We'll see |
