Venom pro charger vs. thunder ac6 charger

I am considering buying either a venom pro charger or a thunder ac6 charger. Which is better? They seem similar and do the same thing. After researching them, I can't decide which is better. What's the main differences between the two(besides price.)

I've got a couple 3s lipos I will be charging.

We own 2 of the green Venom ProChargers (almost 2 years now) and a red ProCharger+ (over a year, bought used).

They work well, only issues I have had were:

First couple of balance ports (separate adapter) had issues, replaced free.
Sometimes noisy cooling fan (sorta common, sound goes away but I will likely replace them at some point).

They had most of the adapters we needed (except for Anderson PowerPoles...chopped up a different adapter & changed the connector), work well of a car battery/DC supply or house current.

They are likely a little more costly than most any Thunder charger, but I have been happy & would recommend them.

PS, the balance ports are the "Align" or "JST" style just so you know. Not all packs will fit the balance port, goes for any charger.

I wouldn't get either I have had problems to the software on my Venom charger. I would recommend a Icharger because they are a higher amperage charger to charge bigger packs.

Red Venom pro is awesome! 2s 5000mah and nimh 220mah.

I have and use regularly both these chargers. Both have things that they do better. Both have been excellent for me. I would rely on either as my sole charger. I have used them heavily, 2s, 3s, 4s, nimh of all sorts, and probably some other stuff I don't remember.

AC6 - No fan, so it gets a little hot during charging - nothing alarming. The storage mode is much better and faster. No power supply, just power cord to wall, nice. About a year old. Paid ~$40.

Venom - This is my field charger, it has the battery leads already attached so I can't forget them (the ones that you use to connect to your car battery for charging in the field). I think the balancing block is better, but have not have had any problems with either. About 4 years old, still solid. Paid ~$100.

I think that this bad boy is a must either way. I got one for both chargers. Has connectors for everything I need to charge.

i have the green venom pro charger and i love mine ( i agree that the cooling fan can be a bit noisey at times ) and i would buy it again

I've no personaly experience with the venom charger.

I do have the Thunder AC6. Been using it over a year. Only real complaint is that the balancing plug has a very short lead, and so do some of my packs. Works flawlessly, comes with 120VAC and a 12VDC plug, charges all types of common R/C batteries at up to 5 amps. Comes with adapters for receiver packs, and aligator clips, but no Anderson or Traxxas plugs.
