pretty old thread but hows this looking? any new products with the same abilities? I'm looking to waterproof my scaler (got a holmes waterproof esc coming). planing dip my receiver in liquid tape. use the dielectric grease (once I find it) on my servo, maybe liquid tape the joints, then apply neverwet to it all as just an extra layer of protection. I'm ok with reapplying it from time to time, for 20 bucks it seams worth the easy extra layer of protection

Why not just use a permanent solution that is actually intended for electronics? Liquid electrical tape is for insulating wires from each other and lifts off the surface after a while. Never wet isn't made for electronics and you don't know when it's no longer working until you see smoke. Conformal coating is made for electronics, doesn't fail, and is cheaper.

When you buy a waterproof esc from Holmes it sure as hell doesn't come covered in liquid tape and never wet...

When using a conformal coating, like what you posted in the link, do you tape off the heat sinks and coat the board of the esc a couple times?

I can get something else. I doubt the esc from HH will even need extra protection but it its cheap I figured why not? I know liquid tape was not recommended for esc's because they do give off alittle heat and that could effect it but I thought it would be good for the RX. I like the idea of being able to remove it if I need to. I planned on using the neverwet as an extra layer of protection, not the only layer

the stuff johnny listed looks interesting. does it dry clear? can you remove it if you need to?

I use brush on conformal coating. No taping required.

Yes, tape off the heat sink, plug receptors (fan or sensor port) and wires (the wire coating will get really soft and sticky if you get this stuff on them).

It does dry clear and I read that there is a remover.

now its no good on wires... heat shrink? or the plastics housing for the electronics? its pretty clear I have no idea what I'm doing here lol... I had planned to coat the whole box with it. use little extensions for any plugs.
