Looks like it will work for general 1/10 motors. I dont think itll work for 1/8 motors since my 2400 watt 2560KV motor is not close to anything on there.

Besides the use of "censored" instead of sensored, and his broad assumption that all 540 motors have the same KV for a wind, its a good effort. At least it gives people a ballpark to start with, but don't read too deeply into it or expect motor speeds to follow the chart closely. Even the method of determining KV isn't standardized in the business, so one company may rate it at zero amps and high timing with an AC voltmeter and another is rated under no load and low timing with a peak to peak measurement.


Its a very loose system, quite maddening for a person trying to collect an accurate data set.
