Default Tekin buyer's remorse

Well guys I bought a tekin fxr with a 45t hd motor combo thinking it would be super awesome and blah blah blah. Well I get it all in and hooked up and come to find out the the drag brake is not strong enough to hold my wraith on the side of a hill. It still wants to roll back down. I'm so disappointed with this here I was so excited about having me first I'll say high end powerhouse and its a flop. So since I don't have the money do a new system is there a way I can get it to park on a him like change the gears or put thicker diff oil in it. Let me know what you have done or what works that can help me thanks.

My FXR and 35t will hold my 9.5 pound scaler just fine. Hook up to a Tekin Hotwire and do some programming. I am sure once you get it dialed you will be very happy with it.

Yea its set at 11its been factory reset and then reprogrammed I even called tekin and they said and i quote" that speed controller can't hold the wraith it is just too heavy the sapped controller is doing all it can its just physics weight gravity causing it to cone back down the hill but the speed controller is doing all it can"

What's your gearing?

What's the weight of your rig?

Is your rig creeping down hills, or rolling?

Pro tip: If you're going to ask questions around here give clear concise details that people can use to help you with your problem.

The FXR is most likely not your issue. It might be that the motor just isn't strong enough to hold your rig - or you don't have the FXR programmed correctly, or your rig is geared to the moon and a Pro4 couldn't keep it from rolling around. It's hard to tell with the limited information on the table.

Even at 50% drag brake my Wraith will do front end endos. There is something not right with your settings.

Get some stiffer springs or you can tweak them stiffer....the speed control is only part of the equation for drag brake.

How heavy is your Wraith? Mine is about 10lbs but I never set my DB to hold on hills, I have it set to slowly roll down declines.

OK sorry guys I'm somewhat new to the crawling thing
The tekin guy went over programming with me over the phone ( just redid what j had already done) I am running the stock gears which I'm not sure exactly what they are at the moment. I bet it weighs 10-12 lbs. If I'm driving down the sidewalk and hut the breaks it will skid very abruptly but it creeps down the hill when in the neutral /brake position I'll see if I can take a video and post it maybe that will help

Memphis, do you have the hotwire? Can you put up a screenshot of your settings? It might help.

OK, stupid question on my part........did you calibrate the ESC to the RX when you installed it?
While it "may" work out of the box, the ESC (actually, ANY ESC) needs to be calibrated to be 100% in sync with your TX/RX.

If your running to big of a pinion it will do that. try a smaller pinion and watch your temps. Tekin is very good!

My Dingo had 87/23 when it had the 35T motor in it. That seemed to work.

Everything i have that weighs in at about 10lbs and above doesn't like the 20 pinion, it still creeps. I run in the area of 15 to 17th with a 35 turn on 3s.
