| Hi Tech 5645mg
Just got the Hi-tech 5645mg on friday for my wraith. Used it just for some fun while I was at my cottage and I hear grinding out of the servo. Great stripped brass gears. Anyone have this issue or recommend a servo that will not blow up with the aluminum steering linkage?

I've had good luck so far with the Hitec 7954.

the 5645s that i have left i plan on rebuilding them 1 time a year anyway, $17 for the gear kit, the above 2 servos are very good servos

Decent but a little lower price, HiTec 7955. Good but more money, HiTec 7950. I've had a few 7954's but had issues with them, I no longer recommend them. |

645 is analog...... 5645 is same servo different board..... Same gears and motor.... Just digital version. Digital does see a slight increase in power @ 158 oz vs 133. Still worthless on steering. The above servos not only handle 7.4 volt and the above handle only 6 volt...... on 7.4 see a height of power at 486 oz / in of tq. Just over 3 times the power..... Buy once and be done. A litte more than just good.

Thanks everyone. Looks like if I have to spend some cash I must. In less then 2 weeks I stripped the gears in the stock servo and the 5645mg. Its pretty much stock except for the aluminum steering linkage and using 2cell Lipo's. Clearly I need some that will stand up to something. Hopefully I can get my hobby store do return it or get me a rebuild kit and keep it for something else in the future. |

Buy new gears..... Ditch the board...... Heyok controller and a machined winch spool. Turn into a winch. About all they are good for...... Dig maybe but kinda on the large side!

I just built a 645 servo winch and it will pull my wraith straight up no problem. Only thing I did different was to buy the Robot servo HSR1425CR for the control board. $17. Works like a charm.
