help 3s

ive been lurking around and 3s looks :flipoff: great so i picked up a 3-4s esc and a ccbec/3s batteries is there anything else. also do i need the usb to play with the bec:???:

what kind of esc is it?
I know you can use a usb device (Castle Creations Castle Link and Tekin HotWire) on some esc's but not all.
