Default Crawler Motor Advice - outrunner useful or not ?

Hi,
I've just bought an Axial AX10 Scorpion with a bunch of spare parts and a motor installed - but no Esc, servo or battery.

The installed motor is a brushed LRP Truck Puller 2.

For the time being, I've ordered a cheap-as-can-be Hobbyking X-car 45Amp ESC just so I can have something to play with.
I happen to have a Protek 150T servo incoming which will be useful in this build as well. I currently have 2s2p 7000mAh batteries around from my ShortCourse truck, but I might as well buy something else.

I know the kit I'm buying includes the **ax30490 - Axial AX10 Scorpion Outrunner Motor Plate.**

So, in short, I have an AX10 with *currently* a (Brushed) LRP Truck Puller 2, Protek 150T servo, HK Brushed X-car 45A esc, and 2S batteries tah are really heavy...

If I'm thinking about buying a new motor, esc and battery (and maybe bec), what would be the most awesome way to go ?

When given the freedom to choose, would it be most awesome to go for a (brushless) outrunner motor ? (Or if not, what else ?)
And when the motor is determined, what most awesome Esc / Bec / Battery would suffice ?

First question is, what do you want the rig to do?
Crawl
Scaler
Mud/water runs
Basher

That determines recommendations.

Yes, 7000mah packs are large, a couple of 3500's would be better in most cases.
Whatever you get, make sure you have decent battery connectors (not Tamiya) for everything.

imo..

Mamba Max pro esc
Tekin 13.5t sensored brushless motor
perfect blend of speed and crawlability

gear it for crawling/speed with spur/pinion tranny gears
slow stay with 48p gears..80-91t
a bit faster speed gear with 32p gears..52-60t
