Default Waterproof Winch

Hey guys, how do you guys waterproof your winches? I remember reading on the Winch instructions that it was not waterproof. And when they make a point of saying that, they normally mean it...

So it is possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the winch itself shouldnt have to much of an issue with water since it just houses the dc motor, but if you use a winch contoller that would have to be waterproofed.

there are multiple ways to waterproof... from simply wrapping things up in balloons or condoms, dipping the entire thing in plastidip or liquid etape, or covering the board and components with conformal coating.

Ok great, so the winch itself can get wet. The controller is already in the waterproof container.

yeah, but it wouldnt hurt to try and keep water out of the motor regardless.

that said i dont do anything to my 3racing winches. the motors are cheap enough that i have a couple spares if needed.

I de-shrinkedwraped my winch controller and sprayed it down with Corrision-X. Then reheat shrunk it. Not sure how water proof it will be but probably better than not doing anything.

If you are running one of my winch controllers, it's already water proof.
