Everyone's happy. Not really. Now you are in 2 series (s) and 2p (two cells parrelel). Esc still measures terminal voltage for cutoff protection, but now two cells are connected for extra capacity. If the cells are perfectly mached in voltage and are able to discharge staying perfectly mached to one another, everything's good. In the real world cells always discharge at a slightly different rate. So now the esc cuts off at 6.0 volts (normaly), but one of those 4 cells will most likely be below 3.0 volts. Best bet is set the cutoff at 3.2-3.4 volts. This setting is conservative, cells will be happy, and since you have doubled your capacity from parrellel hookup, you can afford to be conservative. |
