| mamba max pro with tekin pro4hd not compatiable
ok got a new mamba max pro and a tekin pro4hd 3500k didn't work, a, b, c are connected correctly motor stutter and barely move called catle and they said the esc is calibrating fine and is fine called tekin they say the pro4hd is pulling too much amp for the mamba max pro to handle they told me to pull the sensor cable out and give it a try and still stuttering barely spin, like its ran out of battery also i didn't hear any beep sound. by the way lipo 4000c 2s venom is fully charge using a 4pks and did reverse the throttle in the setting so is that true that the mamba max can't handle the pro4hd don't want to buy another esc just to make the pro4hd work seen alot of people here using this combo so is it the mamba max pro or the motor by the way the forth time i try again the motor made a snap "pop" sound electric sound only once, but no smoke smell or anything Last edited by bikeboy; 07-25-2013 at 07:35 PM. |

That motor doesn't even make the mmp sweat. People run mmp's with tekin t8's with no fans

Any sensored motor is compatible with almost any sensored esc (Novak excluded), that isn't your issue. Try switching a&c and/or double checking that a sensored brushless option is selected in castle link.

both the mmp and pro4hd are brand new no idea kinda disappointed that the tekin tech support guy said mmp can't support the motor, even though I know several people here use it and harly recommend the combo in the wraith thread anyway here's what I got | |

I run the mmp and tekin pro4 3300. On 3s and 4s. Yeah the castle esc has absolutely no problem handling this motor. Check sensor cable. Try different sensor cable. If you have another motor try that. Sounds like the esc is trying to power up the motor but the motor no like.

damn got a tekin redline motor and it work fine with the mmp - heard the beep sound on startup didn't hear that at all on the pro4hd so basically the tekin tech steer me the wrong way the pro4hd I got was defected from the start gonna return it to tekin for them to fix or replace it |

I see on your sheet that your motor type is set on smart sense. I have the mmp ROC 412 2100 and I had to set the motor type to sensored. The only time my mmp fan acted up on high was when my sensor wire was not fully pushed in.

I have one MMP that the sensor plug broke off the board and I soldered back on. it runs fine sensored but the fan runs 100% of the time now.

Im running the MMP w/ Tekin Pro4 4000 and a Venom 20c 5000mah 2s. When I first installed the combo it did the exact same thing the OP describes. I adjusted the timing to "0" and swapped the A/C wires. My two cents would be swap the wires, try it. Then if all else fails check to make sure all 6 sensor wires are intact.

The sensor wire doesn't seem to push into the MMP very well either. You will want to use a small screwdriver to make sure it's seated all the way. Just DON'T PUSH TOO HARD or you'll break the plug off like I did. Mine might not have been soldered too well, but either way, be gentle, but firm.

old thread i know QQ I ran the MMP with a pro4hd 4300 for about 7 months, no issues whatsoever. Had to switch A and C wires (always a must for castle esc and tekin motor), but ran completely smooth. Had it in a Losi SCTE pushing hard around the track week in and week out.. still works like a charm. MMP finally died when i let a friend try it in his rig. Dunno what he did, but doesn't work anymore. |
