Default Servo Tech: analog vs digital

Was wanting clarification of these two designs.

I was told at my LHS that when analog servos bind...
they just don't steer... but no fault will occur.
But that digital servos can burn up if the tire is wedged and bound.

Was also told that with digital servos...
the RX would need have capability for endpoint adjustments...
or else the servo could swing too far.

Is there a article or write up somewhere that references
the differences between these two types of servos ?

or is the analog just old skool and slowing going away ?

I have a Futaba S3305 servo...
and tho' it shows every specification I would want...
I cannot find where it states whether it is analog or digital !?

I was gonna guess is was analog...
because when it gets in a bind... it just plays dead for that millisecond.
But it hasn't burnt up or shown any other fault.

Seems a little underpowered...
But it's what I have for the moment.

Yeah I have a bec... and the servo voltage is set at 6.0v
That is the specified voltage for peak torque on this particular servo.
Would it be harmful to that servo motor if the voltage where set slightly higher ?

Or would it make no difference as the servo will draw no more ?

It's analog. You'd probably be best off leaving the voltage at 6. I always thought endpoint adjustment was a good idea, no matter what servo you run. Helps avoid binding altogether.
