Default bec problem help

Ok I am having some issues with my cc bec and don't know what. When I have it hooked up and red wire from esc removed from plug, the truck sitting on the ground and I pull the throttle it lurches back and forth as it slowly inches forward, but when I pick it up and pull the throttle no lurching or anything just smooth spinning of everything. And when I remove the bec and reinsert the red wire from esc everything works perfectly. What is the problem? How do I fix it? I'm so confused.

Thanks in advance,
Kenneth

Sorry if this is an obvious question but do you have the red/black wires on the BEC soldered to the batt plugs on the ESC? Did you cut the red wire off of the ESC or did you pull it out of the RJ connector?

Red/black wires were soldered. Pulled red wire out of connector.

Whats the voltage of the BEC set at?

I believe they come set at 5 volts. 6 volts is preferred nowadays.

Perhaps the voltage is already set higher than 6 and your receiver will not handle more than 6.

Pics of it wired up would help. But as of the moment I would say a bad bec something hooked up wrong or like what has already been said incorrect voltage. Do you have a castle link to program it to 6v?

If castle, I had a similar issue and it was in the firmware. Don't ask me why, but rolled it back to the oldest and ended all my issues.

Just plug it in to your castle link and the old firmware will be available.
