Default CC bec kill 7950th

hi folks,
I've had an issue on my crawler, my bec was setted to 7.0v to feed my 7950th and few months later my 7950th stop working, very hot : burned.
I checked my bec, impossible to get it dialed with castle link to check output voltage. I checked with a voltmeter : 12.0v output voltage from the bec
Bec has fried and then burn my servo ?
Is there anyone having the same trouble ?

Thanks

Hi, I have burnt a hitec out on 6v from cc 10a bec, I changed the servo and bec at the same time, I'll have to test the old bec and let u know but the new 7950 and cc bec have been running 7.4v for over eight months now with no probs

thanks !
it's very strange and I'm wondering how to prevent a cc bec frying? cause you can't see it's fried and then it kills your expensive servo

I had a CC 10A BEC die, it went to full pack voltage. It was an older style one though (before the large external cap).

Send the servo back to HiTec, they will likely repair it.

Thanks for the heads up as I just bumped up the voltage on my CCbec from 6.0v to 7.4v feeding my Hitec 7950th. Yesterday I was driving my Wraith fairly hard and checked my servo after about 20 min. and it was very hot. It was 88 degrees out and I didn't feel that was hot enough to make a difference. I guess I'll check the voltage from the bec and see what it reads and make adjustments accordingly. Also this is the newer bec with the larger cap.

Yep I had a Bec take out 2 Jr 8411 and a gearhead light bar before I figured out my Bec was sending 11.1 volts out .

Hey guys, what CCbec are you using, the old or new model? I know Charlie-III said he ran the older model. Just curious and trying to narrow down the problem for future reference.

I just had a brand new Castle bec do that. It was set at 7.4 but was letting 12v through.

My steering was kick ass for about five minutes

All those servo burnt are Castle fault, is there anyway to get it taken into account?

Exactly why I am running a 2s LiFe instead of a BEC.

There's a lot of talk on another forum (RCGroups) about the newer CC 10A BEC's having problems. I have at least 5 of them (newer style) and so far they have been OK.
