Default Gearing question...

Stupid newb question... But I honestly can not remember. I am overheating my brushless setup in my daughters Emaxx It is the stock reedy 3300kv set up from my rtr sc10b. It's fast and fun... But to cool it down, do I need to use a smaller or larger pinion gear? For the life of me I can not remember.

Pinion gear is the one on the motor shaft. Go smaller with that one.

Those Reedy motors run hot pushing a sc-b an emaxx is just gonna make it work harder. To answer your question smaller pinion+larger spur gear to help cool it down and maybe a heat sink with a big fan.

If wanting more speed run 4:1 ratio and if you want a little more torque go with 5:1 ratio. I run 32p 60/12. Motor barley gets warm.
