| Sidewinder SV3 update?
So, the Castle Creations Sidewinder SV3 has been out on the market for awhile now. What's your experience with it? Is it trouble-free and holding up well? The reason I'm asking is because I have 2 SV1's and an SV2 in need of replacement, and Castle may upgrade/exchange them for a reduced cost of new ones. What are your thoughts on their latest version?

So, I take it that no-one is running the SV3? That's disappointing....

The SideWinder SV3 is pretty much a waterproofed version of the SV2. Ok choice for a lower cost brushed esc, but not sensored for using brushless sensored crawling motors. I have one in an Exo and works exactly like a SV2. If you were buying new, then I would go with the BR-XL for brushed motors and the MMP for sensored brushless. |

I had overheating issues with the SV2 (like many others), and 2 dead SV1's. I could either eat the cost, or have Castle upgrade them for $40 each. At least the new ones would carry a fresh 1 year warranty.

At $40 you can't really go too wrong by having them replaced.

I know a few who have them and are having better luck with them then the sv2. Dosen't seem to have the same overheating issues the sv2 had. Just what I have heard.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I was just wondering if the newest version was worth the cost of shipping/upgrading the old ones in for new. Maybe I'll send them in one at a time as needed .
