Default problem with the drag brake.. its always on at max

Hey guys I need help with my Esc..
Im using a BHR ESC 120a for 1 year and no problems but today Im trying a sensored motor for the first time a HW xerun 3400kv.
In my first testing inside the house found a problem , my wraith seems to have the drag brake at 100% ..
When I put some power the wheels run but stop as soon as I release the trigger , they act at none free spins at all , I checked the specs by a hobbtwing card and Drag brake its 0%

Gear mesh is not tight.

Have you experienced something like this ?

I have dealt with the hobbywing before in my rally car. Reading that card is not the easiest. Try taking drag to 100%..
If I remember correctly, 100% is off an 0% is on.. its weird how they word stuff.
Just a thought, its been a year.

Hmm that sounds odd but it might work , I remember hearing that some ESC works backwards compared to other brands..

I will try it and reporting back

nop it didnt work, change the settings to 100% and still full brake, the wraith runs great but as soon as I release the trigger stops hard it even does a stoppie, and I dont want that full brake.

any other hint?

Hmmm.. brake strength maybe?
That's weird, both ways shouldn't do the same thing.

What do you have the brake setting set to?

well, shame on me, it must be something mechanical and not the ESC because the car barely rolls even when turned off, its really hard to turn the wheels feels like if somethings is braking the wheels thats the reason the car stops quickly when is running and then instead of coasting freely it brakes hard.

my ofna nexx10 is 4x4 too and runs as free as my 2wd ruckus when is turned off, tranny feels and hear smooth, I will have to open the diffs but 2 weeks ago they were like new.

so, new question same problem, which part I have to look and check?

Remove the motor and check for driveline binding 1st before opening things up. You may have a tight pinion/spur gear mesh which could cause the same issues.
Since that seems to be the only things recently changed, start with that.

found!!

it was that I changed the stock wheel hex nuts for some shiny aluminium ones, I didnt noted that the ones in the rear were too thin so when I tightened the wheels they touched the lock outs causing to feel "braked", feel good to have found the problem cuz Im in the process of testing my new HW xerun motor and this issue could be caused a lot of heat on the motor.

now the wheels roll freely and I can tell there is no drag brake applied when I release the trigger

X2! Nothing worse than searching for a problem, only to find no solutions.

tell me about it, I considering myself still new to the hobby and I past many hours looking for general info and always before making a new thread I search for solutions for my issues and many threads in different forums are incomplete cuz they just forgot to post some feedback on it.

so, since I hate that too I always try to closing my threads with a thank for the help or post my findings.
