Can you run lipo battery's on a brushed motor? If so, can you expect more power and speed from the truck?

Make sure your ESC is compatible. ie: Has a LiPo-safe voltage cut-off.

So you are saying there is a chance. How do I know if the esc can run lipo? I am running a rooster crawler that is about four years old. |

The rooster should be good to go, However you will need to set the cutoff. Its in the instruction sheet. If you need it I can look at mine this evening. Hank

You can run lipo on any ESC even if it doesnt have a LVC. As long as your lipo does not exceed the maximum voltage for the ESC. Run a low voltage alarm if your ESC does not have a LVC. A LVA will beep loud enough for everyone to hear it. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4 |

You should be able to find all the specs on that ESC on Novak's website. I believe they still have the original user guides for discontinued products as well.

Just a quick note, the rooster will only run 8.6 volts or so. The magic smoke comes out otherwise. Hank

thanks for the help, I found the instructions online, so now I just need to buy a lipo. The manuel said 2s max, so sounds like a 2s for me.
