Wire it to the lipo combatable esc just like you would any other brushed motor. It's just two wires.

Yes, sidewinders will run brushed motors. I believe they come set to brushless mode so make sure to program it with your castle link first.

I just finished an install on my wraith. I used the motor out of my 12v dewalt drill with the adjustable chuck. You need a torque bit to take the drill apart if you go this way. It is replacing a traxxas titan 21t that took a sh!t.

First I had to cut the pinion gear off the shaft. Its a 48 pitch and a 16t but it doesn't line up correctly on the spur gear.

The gear is pressed on and won't come off by prying it, I used a dremel with a cut off wheel and scored two opposite sides and then cut it with wire cutters. It breaks easily

Next I ground a flat spot on the shaft with the dremel again

Then I soldered my new leads with deans plug

Then add a new pinion gear and hooked all my sh!t back up and its good to go. the test run was good. Didn't have to do anything else. It took about half an hour and was pretty easy to do.

POWER-
I am running a tekin fxr-pro, 17t pinion, stock spur and mip's
This motor has plenty of torque! Instant smile. I was running the traxxas titan 21 that i ran on 2s and i though that set up ran good. Good torque, fast enough for my needs, but it did run a little hot. The DEWALT motor has a lot more torque. I've only driven around a small yard so can't say anything about heat, speed, battery use later. I have only run it on 2s for the test run, but i'll try 3s and update when I get a chance to go out. I'll post pics and vids later as well
