Default 3rd channel switch?

I was just curious if I could switch between 2 components (let's say 2 servos) both using one channel but having 2 different uses. Could I do this with a 2 position switch hooked up the rx? How would it be weird?

I've seen it done before, but I'm not sure how the guy did it.

You could use a SPDT switch (single pole double throw).

Signal wire from the RX goes to the switch common (usually the center connection) and then goes out to each device, one to each of the empty connections on the switch.
The red & black need to be split and shared between the 2 devices as it comes out of the RX.

my understanding here is that you want to use the same control inputs to operate two different outputs at different times. Am I correct? Do you want to use it in a remote switching capacity or a manual switch on the car itself?

If the answer provided above fixes what you are looking to do, disregard my question here.

Yes. I was planning on a manual switch. How would I make a remote switch? I have a flysky fsgt3b and I was planning to use the 3rd channel.
