Default tekin fxr or mamba max pro?

i see alot of people using the fxr and a lot of people using the mamba max pro. i would be putting it in a wraith so i want some wheel speed but also torque. i definatly need forward/drag/reverse and just want to know which would be the best and what the downsides to each one are

2 different animals all together.

I would go MMP for a wraith. if you need to save space and only want to run brushed ever then FXR... very small compared to the MMP.

MMP- Brushless OR Brushed, sensored or NOT, adjustable onboard BEC up to 6s lipo, (altho I recomend external BEC always), smooth and reliable. great all around spedo for everything. if you ever want to go 4 pole tekin brushless motor or something your good to go!!

FXR- very adjustable without hotwire via TX, SMALL, brushed only, awesome brakes, 3s stock but can run 4s with Cap mod and BEC.

As Jeepster said the MMP is sort of a "Jack of all trades" while the FX-R is brushed motors only.

First you need to decide, or at least consider, what type of motor you'll be using and how you'll use it.
- If brushless is on the horizon (only recommended for bashing) the MMP is a preferred choice.
- For mostly somewhat slow crawling with a brushed motor the FX-R is a great option.
- For faster runs with a brushed motor you could consider some third option, like Castle Sidewinder or HH Torquemaster BR-XL.

Brushless crawl just fine when you use a good 4 pole motor. Volt up and gear down. Plenty smooth

I want decent wheel speed. But lots of power and no jittering when going very slow for crawling.i dont want to bash. Im thinking I want brushed just because i need a drag brake and I want to be able to switch between 35t and 55t when on trails or rocks

(More than) Decent wheel speed - 4 pole sensored

(More than) Lots of power - 4 pole sensored

No jittering - 4 pole sensored

Drag brake - 4 pole sensored

No need to switch between motors - 4 pole sensored

MMP. You may eventually want a nice sensored motor in there. MMP does it all man. I currently have 4 MMP's looking for a 5th right now. The only issue I have had is sand in the on/off switch.

Esc - mmp
Motor - pro4 or 3656sd or roc 412
Battery - any 3s capable of delivering 100a.

How about a ROC 412 3100KV? Mine runs like a champ! smooth, plenty of torque and fits easily.

I always forget about that guy and his little 1/8" shaft. I edited my above post to include it.

I hardly ever break my wraith. You do know that the throttle is proportional, right?

LOL yep, I'm amazed these things don't break off sometimes. One perk though is pinions are easy to find!

I'd consider Holmes Revolver S 540 as well.
Why stick to 4-pole when you can have 14-pole?
Less motor speed but more torque, so it can use a larger pinion.

Perfect. Mine is super smooth and make sure you get yourself a 4S battery too. It's incredible on 4S trust me.
