Default new to brushless systems....

I have a couple of brushless esc's and was wandering if you have to program the esc for the brushless motor or does it automatically know it?i have 2 sidewinder esc by castle but no castle motors....any ideas would help alot

You have to program it if you have it on brushed now.

that's what I was thinking...but the new one I have has never been hooked up do they normally come set up for brushed from the factory?

CC ESC's come set for brushless "new from the factory".

ok does it have to be a cc brushless motor or can it be any brushless motor?

I have tried 2 different brushless motors and both motors when you throttle them up the wires for motor just jump around...

Are you using sensored motors? Have you tried switching a few of the motor wires around? There are a few reasons for the motor jumping around. Which motors are you using?

using a hobby wing motor and a dtx from castle yes I swapped wires around
