The red and yellow wires that are soldered close to each other look like they are in contact.

The upper wire that seems to have some cut strands from the solder can only fail to deliver the kind of Amps it is rated for.

I had an ESC like that right out of the box once. Crossed strands, weak connections, all the factory installed smoke leaked out of it. Very sad.

What ESC is that?

I bought them used but they were never installed. Christhebatteryman was the person I was told that had smashed them. I'm not blaming anyone for anything I am just showing my issues on here. I did remove all three wires, cut them down, tinned them and resoldered them. ESC's work great now with no issues. Now I have 2 fried wantamix's and am still sitting here with my thumb in my butt and no way to control my rig.
What's the best route to go?
1. New Wantamix (If I can find one, I have an email in at Overkill to get a new one or repair this one).
2. New Radio (This sucks cause I am broke and don't have the cheddar for this and the new receivers needed)
3. Try to repair the Wantamix (Hopefully its doable, probably by someone more skilled than me at this stuff)

If you are on a budget than you can't afford to buy twice. I would save up the $150-175 and buy a used 4pl. I paid $175 shipped for mine with a rx in the original box with the manual and it literally looks like it has never been touched.
