Default Dual esc running at different temps?

I just smashed dual fxr and noticed that the esc on bottom runs twice as hot as the one on top, according to the on board temp gauge. They are mounted to a RR motor electronics plate with silicone servo tape. I haven't checked the gear mesh of the bottom esc yet though. Has anyone noticed this?

Checked the gear mesh and it was good. I had put new rear axle shafts in so I checked the shims. They were too tight so I replaced them with thinner ones and that helped. The heat difference was reduced by about half. So now when the front shows 2 lights the rear only shows 3
