Default Waterproof Receiver?

Ok im kind of a noob, but at the same time i feel like im not, because of all the reading i do on this stuff, and all the videos i have seen.
I'm Attempting to waterproof my receiver with plexiglass on top so I can see the powere light. I drive a SCX10 with stock electronics and a 3600mah Venom power battery 7.2v. Is it a good idea or not?
I have seen people dip the whole thing with clear epoxy. So has anyone attempted to do it with Plexiglas.
My servo, esc,and light switch has been plasti dip, In case you were wondering. The reason why I have not done the receiver is because I'm still whaling on some servo extensions.
