Default Suggested radio systems?

I have decided to upgrade my radio system. I have 6 different vehicles that I would like to use 1 transmitter for. My radio systems are ancient. From AM airtronics xl 2p, to futaba attacks.

I would like a 2-3 channel transmitter that is the new 2.4ghz. I also would like something not ridiculous in price, since I have to buy 6 recievers as well. I do prefer a stick over a pistol grip. but will use a pistol grip if I have to. I am a lefty, that's why I don't like pistol grips much.

Please give suggestions.
Thankyou.

Look into the FlySky gt3b or gt3c. Very reasonably priced and can be hacked to get 8 channels I believe.

I have a Spektrum DX3C that I love using. Can handle up to 20 RC's.

Thanks for these suggestions! The Spektrums ive been looking at because they are big a big name brand. But the FlySky gt3b is much more affordable, and appears to be as readily available. So how does the FlySky gt3b actually perform? Would it be good for a boat that goes really far out in a lake?

They perform great. I've had my Wraith somewhere between 200-300 feet away and it never lost signal connection. I also have it converted to run a 3s battery. The cost of the radio forbthe capability you can achieve is unbeatable.

Airtronics M8 and M11 M12 all have left hand conversion remove 2 screws and turn the top around.
Futaba 3PK 4PK are easy to convert to left hand, this includes the 3 & 4 pks radios too.
Spektrum DX3C DX3R and DX3R Pro Dont know about the dx3s, but I know the dx3e is not.
The Radiopost TS401 and the Lynx3D.

My 7 yr old is a lefty too.
Im sure i could come up with more but this is a pretty good list.

im a big fan of the hacked flysky. even if futaba and specky came down to the same price i would prefer the hacked flysky just for its momentary switches...

...and its 10 buck receivers.

If your really wanting to set your boat up on the same radio, you might wan't to consider something set up for boats too like the futaba fasst systems and I think the spektrum's.. Personally I will use crystal radios in my boat untill I can't get them anymore..

For lefty using pistol radio, you can hold the throttle with right hand and the wheel facing outward and use your left hand to steer... Have seen a few people using it that way, not sure if they are southpaw.

The other day losikid point out a new budget line radio that can relocate the wheel to the back of the radio for southpaw.

If you think DX3c is too much to pay for, then flysky will be your choice. I have used all 3 (GT3-B (non-hack), DX3C and 4PL) all are great for what they are.

Colgout is right. You can do a 'reach around' with the 4PL and prolly others. I was initially worried about not having fine throttle/trigger control with my left hand but after practicing it for a while, got the hang of it. Sometimes use a second finger, as backup, on the trigger. Came over to crawling after 40 plus years flying 2 stick transmitters. Even tried to drive a rig w/ my old plane transmitter and it just didn't feel right. Neither did the pistol style ... at first. Now it is second nature.

The CRT4 is not a budget radio really, and its functionality is severely limited imo. I just pointed out that i like radio housing itself and that it be nice if i was to ever create a hack or new guts for it.

Well I went ahead and purchased the flysky. I love that recievers are so cheap. This will be fun for me to have 1 transmitter for all my models (except the helicopters). I watched some videos on youtube about it as well. There are some very informative videos on it!

Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone!
