| 4pl vs 4pk vs dx4
Looking at getting a new radio. I currently run spektrum dx3s in all my trucks and car. My two nitros have telemetry setups but they are shelf rides one to nice to run. The other one just way to fast to handle. So my question to you all people what would be the best for my trucks I mainly use my xr10, wraith, scx10, and a swx ax10 shafty. I know they all have different features. That is what I need to know. I see futaba all over at comps with my xr10. I have held the futaba and I like how it feels in hand vs spektrum. Harley already broke down the 4pl and the remote is just sweet. Is the 4dxs as good?

4pks for the win. What sold me was when we would be out slash bashing and my dx3r would run out of radio and lose signal. My buddy with his 4pk would drive out and push mine back. Best signal, best mixing, and most popular radio for crawling. But the best, and buy it once.

Flew JR stuff for 30 or so years until 2.4 came around and made 'em look bad. Got into crawlers this year and after researching on the forums got a 4PL and am satisfied. Thought about a 4PK but didn't want to spend that (twice as) much.

Also, if you're a Tower member, you get $15 off the 4PLS, along with the fall coupon of $35 off, you can get it for $199.

If you can afford the pk than get it, if not, go with pl. The spektrum is like a hot tranny. It may seem like a good idea, until the two of you get some alone time...

I run a DX4S and am very happy with it. I don't run MOA rigs so I have no idea about mixing for all of that. The 4PK is the nicest radio on the market as far as I'm concerned, but it's pricey (not a huge deal considering you buy it once) and the Rx's are pricey (a huge deal if you have 20 cars). That's one area that Spektrum kills everyone else on. You can buy cheap Rx's for cars that don't need tons of range or anything fancy, and you can buy top of the line Rx's so you can take your 1/5 scales 200+ yards away and still maintain perfect control. The 4PL has many nice features, and the Rx prices are reasonable, but I'm not as much of a fan of the menus and feel. That's a personal preference thing though, so you might find it to be your favorite.

What's the difference between 4pl and 4pls other than telemetry?

That's one thing that Futaba finally listened about, the new receivers are super cheap compared to the old ones. A 4 channel RX is $40 without telemetry, for telemetry add $10.

My favorite is the $35 6 channel r2106gf. I don't think there is a fasst rx for less than $80 though. | |

I like the MT4 for its ease of use and response time of the mixing.
