esc/reciver help hey guys the other day i was playing with my ax10 in the creek and i got it a lil wet but have my stuff water tight or thought so anyways after a little water play i went to the trails and about 20 min in my car just took off and i had to smash reverse and it stoped but would not go backwards and not there is a flashing red light on the esc |
Sounds like ya got wet....take it apart....and let everything dry out when it's dry plug every thing in and make sure it works ....if it does pop all the circuit boards out and dip everything in plastidip...you. Never have another problem...same thing happened to me...git the rx wet..ps..out some 3" extensions on the rx before ya dip it Sent from my PI39100 using Tapatalk |
Re: esc/reciver help i plastidiped my esc and reciver and everything worked fine till bout 20 min after i got out the water and there was no water in the reciver box at all aax10 ridcrest is what i have too |
Re: esc/reciver help how long did you let the plasti dip dry for? |
Re: esc/reciver help day or 2 before i went out and ran it in the wter |
Re: esc/reciver help Try it with a different rx. If that doesnt help try it with a different esc. You can try putting the electronics in a bowl of rice to dry them out. Btw, conformal coating is the way to go. |
Re: esc/reciver help I plastidipped a sidewinder and receiver. It was ok first couple of times it got wet, but eventually I had problems with it suddenly going into reverse or just not responding to controls at all. The esc eventually burnt out just splashing in a stream. I have epoxied the new esc. but will not drive into deep water now. It's done just in case there is some water around. |

I've never had a problem with the plasti dip...my guess is there was still a water way into the thing...i use all castle sidewinders.and I dip the ones that aren't sv3's when it dries you have look at it closely the dip shrinks so sometimes there's a little hole that can let water in that ya gotta cover up....
