Default Thin 3s?

Has anyone run across some thinner 3s packs? I want to be able to run 1 on each rock slider (after I build a tray) and still have it low enough to put some sort of interior in there. I keep finding packs that are shorter but still thick.

From what I've seen from browsing through lipo ads, anything over about 2,200 mah tend to be thicker. I'm sure there are packs out there that would work, but companies don't always provide the dimensions of their products.

You could probably use a Zippy Flightmax 2200mah 3S.

Thanks guys, I was actually going to try for thinner than 2s hardpack - I could very well be SOL here.

1000mah 3s are about 15mm thick.

Basically you will have to reduce the amount of mah to make it thinner.

Wouldn't running a 3s with less mah give you less power then a higher mah 2s?

No. 3S is going to give you more power than 2S. You'll have a lower capacity(run time). I run my 2S 5000mah when I have a free afternoon to bash around. I use my
3S 2200 when I don't have so much time and I want a bit more power.

The only way the 3s wouldn't make more power than the 2s is if it couldn't supply enough amperage. If the system draws 100a and the 3s pack can only provide 50a than it would voltage sag into the low voltage cutoff. In that case you are ruining the pack. That's a pretty extreme example.

Any time you buy packs you should make sure that they can produce the amperage that your system is capable of drawing.

+1..... low mah packs NEED a high "C" rating for performance, high mah packs can get away with a lower "C" rating since the mah helps out.

Low mah & low "C" will suck in most rigs when you need some punch.

Ok, so basically I can't get more power with higher mah, just longer run times, damn that sucks since I don't have.room for anything bigger then 2s.

It's a custom built rock buggy, I will get dimensions for the battery space after I get my kids some breakfast.
