Default Is the EVX2 16.8v too much for Axial 27t?

Looking to run the EVX2 in a wraith with a single 27t or titan 12t.
Also is there any way to run a single 2cell lipo for this?
I can fit two batteries but would prefer not to.
Any suggestions?

traxxas made a jumper plug to connect one of the battery inputs to run 1 battery. do a search on google to get the evx2 manual and you can make the jumper using the diagram in the manual. you can run most any brushed motor using only 1 battery, its when you get into running 2 batteries that you'll need to consult the manual for motor recommendations.

All that matter is that the ESC is rated (in amps and # of turns for the motor) for whatever motor you're going to run. The motor in any electric RC is in charge, the ESC will simply attempt to hand out what the motor asks for, that's why ESC's usually have a turn rating as well as an amp rating. If that ESC is rated for 16.8v, then a single 2s will be fine, just make sure the 12t motor isn't too low a wind for the ESC, meaning it will need more current (due to less resistance) than the ESC can safely provide.

Here's a link to the Traxxas EVX2 info. 12 turn 550 limit or 10 turn 540, but from what else I can find, running 1 motor you have pretty much no minimum limit. Dont forget the EVX2 has no lipo cut off so an alarm or external cut off will be needed.

you need to make or get a jumper to run 1 battery. One side powers the esc, so if you are using an external bec you can just plug your battery into the non esc side.

I have 2 of these esc's and sometime will build an 8 wheeler form some old clodbuster axles I have laying around.
