| can a 5955tg be turned into a winch?
Well yesterday I was crawling my scaler and after about 20 mins my stearing went out. Its a hitec 5955tg. When I checked it it moved freely so I touched the servo and it was so hot that it burned my finger on the heat sinc. So after it cooled down I opened it up and the 2 chips on the board are melted a little and it smells burnt. My question is can I turn this servo into a winch servo by getting a new board? Thanks Jeff

yes, u can make it as servo winch as long as the motor is in working condition, and also check those gears. |

any servo can make a winch. just gotta get the HEYOK controller and resolder to the motor poles.

be carefull when removing the board from the motor. prying up while trying to unsolder the board from the motor can sometimes break off the motor tabs. some solder wick or a solder bulb will help suck the solder out and keep the motor tabs in place. theres a thread somewhere on here about it. |

This pic shows two places where you need to remove the solder. There is a third place that I forgot to mark, but the pic shows the solder removed. It is just above and to the right of the second large IC starting from the left. |

Also very important, don't forget to remove the pin from the main gear |
