Default AX-3 Transmitter Range

hey everyone im very new to this RC world haha but not new to the crawler side.

Anyways, i got a Axial Wraith in trade for some fabrication work. Its been working just fine, and then yesterday i let my son drive it for a little bit and now it seems like the transmitter has NO range. I can set the car on the ground and it take off, like i turned the transmitter off before the car. Ive rebinded the transmitter and receive.

Does anyone know why it might be doing this?
