Also had a couple holmes motors, and had no issues... I would recommend holmes just because of the top notch support you get on here, and the quality, I didn't run them long cause I sold the rig I had them on, but were very nice motors.. If it was me, I'd buy holmes... Or another option is brood, also very good motors and support on here. I know that doesn't help you much on a decision, but I know there are many Holmes & brood fans on here so more will chime in! Good luck on your choice! | |

Can you order Tekin motor with option like stiffer spring, method of balancing or creamic bearing? I think the answer is simple, if you are not fuss with any options and their benefit, just order a Tekin, and hope that you dont run into problem. Otherwise Holmes and Brood will sure able to sell you a better motor to better suit your need and with better support here.

Brood 30turn is my xr comp crawler. Nice and smooth start up and plenty of wheel speed. |

Holmes does alot for this hobby. I haven't seen Tekin as a tittle sponsor, or any sponsor of some kind in a long time. Go with one who supports what you do!

Agreed.. I put a Tekin Handwound in my son's scx10 cause I got it for a good deal. Well all I can say is that I am very disappointed. I wish I would have used that money to get a Brood or Holmes. I have Broods in my xr and love them. The Tekin is under powered and I have had to cut the comm well before I should have and replaced brushes way faster. Would have more $$$ in my pocket still if I hadn't gone for the deal!!!. Remember you get what you pay for!!!

I ran a few tekin motors back in the day and they all had issues and burnt up real quick. I've had better luck with the cheap integy motors. I have HH in every crawler and basher I own other than my wraith and have never burnt 1 up to date. All though a couple need a rebuild, but that's cheap. So its HH all the way for me. Plus the torque is unreal. I've broke some pretty beef parts with his motors.
