Default Tekin fxr help

I just got a tekin fxr. Everything was really clear and easy for the install. But now I'm having a hard time for getting the truck to reaspond right. Their directions for setting it up are not good. The truck doesn't always have dragbrake and it pauses from reverse to forward. Sometimes it even pauses if you let off the throttle and hit it again. It lights up as if it has the signal but won't move untill you let off and hit it again. Help?

You have to turn on instant reverse in the programing, the stock program has a delay.

Read the manual. The best way is to buy a "Hot Wire" to program it.

I am not sure how to do it with the on board programing, I use the Hotwire programer.

Not sure what is going on with it now. Got everything to work. My only issue is that I have full drag brake after moving forward but not reverse. Any ideas of what's going on?

Sounds like you need to recalibrate the ESC to the RX.

If you're in Arvada, CO., stop into the Hobby Shop there (Crawl Space?), they can help out.

Like Charlie said, recalibrate the esc to receiver. Then read the manual again, even if you already have. I missed some things the first time. To program the esc, turn everything on, then press mode. Use the table in the manual to determine what the abbreviations mean. Experiment with settings until you get the feel you want. By the way, turning the ESC off then back on saves your settings and puts you back into driving mode.

Can you put up a picture of your wiring?

When you drive foward, do the LEDs light up from left to right?

The lights go from right to left. Or in other words, from the capacitor side to the other.

If the throttle trim is set forward on the TX, it will eliminate dragbrake ...

I found out a similar way, took the rig out and no dragbrake al of a sudden. Day before no problems, after some exploring I found out the throttle trim was turned a few clicks (2-3) forward. Resetting it fixed the problem Check your TX to rule this possibility out ...

If you need to set throttle trim to keep it from riding when no throttle is used, you need to recalibrate
