Another NOOB Li-Po ??

Hello all, sorry for the dumb questions, but I would rather ask here, then fry something, and have to spend money because I didn't ask. I would rather spend it on upgrades. Anyway, my question is. Can I run say a 2000mah battery and a 4000 mah battery on a "Y" so they are in parallel? Or is that going to cause me some problems? Do they have to be the same mah?

Thats a great question and I don't know the answer. I would tend to think no as the batteries would try to equalize? I don't think I would do it. Maybe an EE can chime in?

There are two different types of Y harnesses for two battery set ups. Look into parallel and serial wiring. Parallel adds amperage, but you want them to be the same amp hour rating on each pack or you will be losing a lot of efficiency. Be careful using series, your battery packs are already wired in series. I'm busy right now. I will post something for you later if you don't look it up first

I guess what I am trying to do is basically get 6000mah in theory. If that makes sense. I don't even have a Y cable yet, but the one I ordered has the +'s together, and the -'s together, hopefully you understand what my non-technical explanation. LOL

The 2Amp/hour battery is going to drain faster and the 4Amp/hour battery is going to constantly be recharging the other battery. It will waste a lot of electricity. It should work and be fine, but it's not ideal. It's a voltage problem and each battery will be sagging and gaining wildly, which lipos can handle, but again, it's not ideal

That is what I was wondering... Guess I will just HAVE to buy another 4000mah battery... DARN..

1-Yes it will work (2 different mah's in parallel)
2-No, it's not ideal
3-A 4000mah pack will give lots of runtime, no need to make it bigger
4-You will start having issue with where to put the packs

I would stick to a single pack, even a 2000mah pack will give a fair amount of runtime. If you parallel anything, I would do 2 2000mah packs.

I run many different mah sizes on my 5000mah 2s I can drive all day and still not drain a battery, or I get bored first, depending on which rig I'm running 4000mah is plenty of run time.

I run 1600mAh batteries in parallel. They were comp batteries and they still work great but 1600mAhs in a Wraith doesn't last very long.

I use these to parallel my batteries. It's the same as buying a Y but less wiring sitting under the hood.

This is the cheapest on eBay for the no wire. There are others. I bought them a while ago and they were 7.50 each, I think!

Yep it's fine. It seems to be horizons favorite connector. I like deans t plugs for stuff like scalers. Mini t plugs on comp stuff.

I have a 3s 3400 mah in my 10lb wraith with a lot of power and get 1 1/12-2 hours out of it. So if you parallel the 2000 mah packs to make 4000mah. Your TH should run until you don't want to run anymore.

I was going to parallel the 2000's, but NOT the 4000. I was just wondering if it was possible to do a 2000 and a 4000 in parallel, more just so I knew.
