| Axial Simple LEDs - broken lead
So I failed to waterproof my Axial Simple LEDs on my wraith, while tinkering I bumped one of the white ones up front and the lead broke right at the base of the LED. Does anyone know of a direct replacement? Or have any info on the LED itself. I know I could build a LED kit, and replace the whole system, but I like the simplicity of the Axial setup. Any info would be awesome. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks |

axial does offer a direct replacement for what you need, you can get them from RPP Hobby, super fast shippy!!! Axial Single LED Light String (White LED) OR ... head to radio shack, buy a pack of leds and just replace that one. its pretty simple and you will have your lights back up by tonight! hope that helps some! sisterfunk |

you do need resistors ... you are correct. but! ... the simple led kit from axial has all that built into the small board. all you need to do is replace the led and plug it back into the side you unpluged it from. the side that the red leds plug into, will have a different resistor hooked up to them and might not work properly or at all. you need resistors when you make the led kit yourself. hope that helps, sisterfunk |

You should be able to solder in another 5mm led, just make sure that you get the polarity the same as the old. You usually only get one shot at it and then you fry the LED!

when holding the leds in you hand .. if you look at the legs of the led, one is shorter than the other. the shorter side in the negative side. Also if you look at the led its self, on the bottom, where the legs meet the lens. there should be flat side. if you slide your finger around the bottom ring you will feel it, that side is also the negative side , just in case the led legs where cut already. resistor just add protection so the led doesnt blow out. the way i run my leds, i use resistors. resistors allow me to run them off a 3s and i know they are not going to blow out, due the the voltage. sisterfunk | ||

anyone know the LED ratings? I picked up some yellow LED's to be fog lights in the bumper. I wired them exactly as the stock was, but they're hardly visible in the daytime, (they glow as if they're parking lights)

most yellow led's i have used have a vf of between 1.8 -2.6v. if you can get a multimeter on the output your using for the yellow led and see what its giving it could be its right at the bottom end of the required vf or even a bit below |

i removed the two outer white LED's in the simple LED string and replaced them with the yellows. The two middle white LED's are still bright.

are the led lens by themselves diffused yellow (colored lens), i have some standard red and green 5mm ones and they dont look bright at all until its really dark enough, however if i use red or green with the water clear lenses they are immediately more visible and seem brighter in lighter conditions.

The super bright ones use a higher voltage than the colored ones.

They're yellow lenses. Guess I'll rewire the superb rights and tint the outer lens yellow
