I have a scx10. It's got all the orginal plugs taymia plugs I think there called. I need to know how to convert it to run lipo. It has a 7.2 v 5000 mah it's a nimh battery. If anyone could give me a good link to the battery and the plugs I'll need it would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot.

have your local hobby shop solder on a better plug, Deans or Traxxas. SPC has some great batteries that can be ordered with either plug.
you also need to turn on lo voltage cut off on ESC, buy a lipo safe sack and do a bunch of reading on all the rules of using lipo, they are not like other batteries.

Hrmph. Sounds pretty much exactly like the advice given by at least two different people, last time you asked that question.

You've been given four different search subjects on battery brands (Turnigy, Venom, Valuehobby (G-force), and SPC) and at least another four on connectors. You didn't find anything you liked with any one of those keywords?

Fine. Here's what you're going to buy:

Two of these
two of these
This connects your charger to your battery
This replaces the white connector on your ESC
and since your charger doesn't have an internal balancer
Here,

Just have your local hobby shop put those connectors on your ESC, and have them turn on your Low Voltage Cutoff, and you're all set. Easy-peasy!

Yes, mah=how long it will last but also = larger size/weight in most cases. For a crawler 2200mah is a good balance between runtime and weight/size.

Yes, you could.

Or THIS would allow you to connect two battery packs to the same ESC in parallel, effectively making those two 2200mAh packs into a 4400mAh pack. (Packs need to be the same voltage and nearly the same in mAh, though.)

One'll work fine, I guess in these crawlers I have come to like the littler packs because you have more options on where to place them. A big pack's only going to fit in pretty much one, maybe two spots.

Sorry if the previous post cam across a bit snide. Didn't take the time to properly word it as I was well on my way to being late for work and hadda get out of the ho........ Ho! Hallo! See ya latr

when being discharged, combined on a regular basis ?

In other words...
there is no regulator that controls output (discharge rate) of each individual battery.
So they may discharge unevenly or even back flow into the weaker batt. (yes or no) ?

I don't really know this rc elect. stuff too good...
so that is why I'm asking for clarification.

I'll assume each individual battery need be re-charged individually ?
yes ?

How is the ESC's LiPo cut off set for this combination ?
^ (auto, (2s or 3s respectively)

I have dual batteries on my 1:1...
It requires an isolator so that one battery cannot draw from the other.
Regardless of whether they are charging or discharging.

How is this different then combining AGM 1:1 batteries ?

thank you for a response/clarification regarding.

Yes, you are correct. Even 2 packs with the same rating, same Mfr & same build date will likely be a little different.
Yes, charge them by themselves.
No, running 2 packs in parallel is not any different than running multiple cells in a pack (series connection). Each cell/pack has it's own "personality", thus behave a little different.

You could do a diode to prevent one pack from charging the other, but not likely really worth it.

[PS, "AGM" = "Absorbed Glass Mat" which is a common term for sealed/spill proof or maintenance free lead acid batteries used in 1:1 rigs. I work in the "large UPS" world, spend a lot of time with VRLA/AGM batteries.]
