Default brushed motor help please

ive search most everything is about what motor to get or brushless vs brushed.

problem:

at low speed it cogs so bad its undrivable. thought it was my tranny i had a r2 switch to axial clone tranny and the issue was still there. my lipos are good so ive thinking this motor i the problem. its a epic based 27turn motor with new brushes and springs. my question is this fixable is there something i should be lookin at or for? i just bought this motor a month ago used but rebuilt from homelesshobbies. no warrenty since it was used. i dont have much knowledge on motors other that they make me go. any help is great.

Sounds like a bad connection either with power to the motor or it may simply be dirty brother. Are the magnets nice and tight??

Thanks,

Have you opened it up and checked the magnets?

Thanks,

need a better pic to really tell, but it appears to need a comm cut. Check for debris in the motor too.

well motor was very clean, im gonna trust that the comm does need cut which i dont have access to a lathe and niether does my lhs. so im gonna swap in a a 19turn armature and start saving for a brushless setup. not that i have anything against brushed but i need a updated esc anyway so why not upgrade it all i guess.

but thanks for the help anyway saved me days looking at the same part and not getting it

If you're running the stock ESC, put an 20t motor or higher in it to see if the problem goes away. Wondering if the receiver or servo is causing glitching....seen it.

What gearing are you running (pinion & spur)?
What is the condition of your gears?
How is your drivetrain, does it spin free & easy with no motor?
Have you tried to recalibrate the ESC to the RX?
Double check the condition of ESC & motor soldered connections, you may have a cold joint somewhere.

16t and 87t spur spur is new pinion is getting thin. drivetrain is smooth. i have my DS angles almost level now.ive tried to recalibrate the xl5 to the gt3b numerous times but i can never get to take. i have to turn everything off cause it hangs on setting reverse and neutral? so im sure it either esc or motor at this point but a upgrade is due anyway. but could a wore pinion do this?

I doubt a worn pinion would cause it, but it's a cheap fix.

When doing the calibration, make sure the TX is set to:

-Throttle EPA's to 100%
-Throttle trims to "0"
Then try the calibration.
Is this a hacked GT3B?

Sounds like the BEC is direct to the servo, thus he needs the ESC red connected to the RX.

but i did all of this:

-Throttle trims to "0"
Then try the calibration.

i did try to wire the bec with the esc red wire pulled and the bec plugged into the rx everything comes on and works but has even more of te cogging? so i guess at this point the bec is the problem.
