Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc I was told I cant run this motor with a tekin rs. But if you read the box it says to use the RS line of esc's.. Really need input. Don't want to burn up a RS just to find out... |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc I would think if the rs will run a brush less motor than it could. |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc I use mine with the RS ESC that i used my previous motor with (Redline 13.5) and it works great |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc I've been running the 412 3100 / RS on 3S in my Twin Hammers for over 8 months now rock racing without a single issue, or even any heat issues. Hope that helps. |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc You can't run that motor and esc together in a go fast car that runs balls to the wall constantly. But in a crawler/basher it should be fine since you're not max throttle all the time. |

Has anyone tried a pro4 4600kv with that esc. I want to get it but I'm scared of what will happen. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc WHAT? I ran a 6.5t Novak ballistic on my B4.1 buggy and one in my short course truck, ON A PACKED CLAY OVAL.. Guess what, there were two throttle positions, 0% and WFO.. Never had a problem with either of my Tekin RS speed controllers. Right now I have a Tekin RS that I am using with a 13.5 Tekin GEN I motor, in my scaler. Routine WFO blasts on 3s and it has never once thermalled or shut down. And to add to that, its sealed in a box with NO AIR FLOW.... I's say there is no reason you can't run a ROC 412 on there.. The limit, according to the Tekin Owners manual is 5 turn 36mm can motors. SO, if you look up a Tekin GEN II motor, 5.5 turn, is 7750 kv. Something tells me a 3100 kv ROC 412 will be no problem for this to handle. And for that Pro4 4600 kv motor, Get a Tekin RS Pro or a RX8 or a Castle MMP. That 4-pole motor might be a bit too much. Remember, that thing was designed for 4x4 short course racing. TY@Tekin. Look him on here boys. He is in postings all over the place here or PM the guy. Will help you with excatly what you need. |

Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc That combo powered me to the U4RC Rock Racing Series Championship in 1.9 comp class. I am planning to use the exact same combo in a heavier 2.2 rig next series, that is how confident I am in this pair. Check the link and take a look at the track we race on. https://www.facebook.com/Ultra4rc |

Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc You can't run a 4 cell lipo on the RS. But other then that it ok. Ty said you make sure you run a higher C rated battery with the ROC412. |
Re: Tekin ROC412 / Tekin RS esc Yep, you shouldn't have any issues running the 412 with an RS. I have been in my 1.9's for over 3 years now. Granted it's been on 2S most of the time, but I ran 3S and ex-BEC for awhile and didn't have any issues then either. You should be fine! Now in a Wraith or something heavy, I have seen them get warm and even thermal in some extreme conditions, but the weight of a loaded Wraith is to blame there. The RSX (our new ESC, almost ready to ship) will be perfect and handle anything you can throw at it. |
Hey ty@tekin I'm putting the pro4 in my custom wraith should I wait for the rsx to use in it? Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk |
