Traxxas ET-3S is basically te same as an MMP

Just hacked 2 of these. Works great. For me the hard part was figuring out that the V3.40.0 link installer had to be saved to the desktop then right clicked on to run as the administrator. Also had a hard time finding the settings folder to replace the original with. Here it is.

I just bought one off the Bay of E for the same price as the SV3 I was going to get. Looks simple to do. I've already downloaded the necessary files.

I got as far as saving the file that you shared to my desktop and that's it. I'm not so sure I want to try for fear of making a paper weight.

Try running it. If it does not work.
You'll have to save instead of run.
Select save as.
Save it to your documents.
Copy and past it to your desk top.
Right click it and run as administrator.
Should end up with Castle 3.40.0 Icon on the desktop.
Save the replacement settings file some place it can be found easily.

Unzip the file.
Copy and past it to the desktop.
Go to the file folder at the bottom left of the screen and open it.
Open the (C: ) folder.
Open the program files and look for the Castle link file.
Open it and find the settings folder.
Click and drag the replacement settings file to the one in the castle link file.
When it ask if you want to copy over it click yes.
Close everything and open castle link(do not upgrade to the newest version).
Plug in your MMP with a battery hooked up and switch turned on.
Upgrade the software.
Load the newest firmware available.
Close castle link.
Reopen and allow it to install the newest version.
Plug in and get the newest firmware.
Enjoy your MMP!

It does that when you try to run it from the link. You'll have to save it to the desktop. Right click the Icon and run as the administrator. If that's not it I'll try to figure something else out.

Did my ET3s today. It took all of 10 minutes to do. I didn't even need a battery plugged into it, just the Castle Link.
Don't have a rig to put it in yet though.

IDK, $69 shipped is still better than $107 (Amazon) for a "real" MMP.

Couple weeks ago when this thread was rolling hot, the amount on egay were all sold out. When back on there seemed price was up by ten bucks. Also year ago I was paying $57 and some change for em. This isn't the only forum with buy happy people on em trying to re sell for $20 more. Haha

The seller usually sells out in a few weeks/month but always gets more in stock. I dont know where they keep coming from as the Traxxas Funny Car is no more. I just used my spare one in a build, i need to get at least two more before the well goes dry.
