Default more sidewinder sv2 running brushed problems

im having issues with my sv2 esc running a brushed traxxas 21t motor. i turn on the esc and instantley the motor goes by itself.(no matter how i set my epa's) and the esc thinks its in neutral (solid yellow light). the esc wont let me calibrate it to my remote and doesnt beep when you turn it on like it should. ive tried diffrent firmwares and everything im out of ideas. my steering still works properley. i am running a spektrum dx3c.

any ideas would be apreciated

thanks

yes. and yes. ive even tried with diffrent recievers. same thing happens. the esc responds when the motor isnt plugged in. pull the throttle (lights up green) let off throttle (goes to yellow) push forward to reverse (goes red) but as soon as you conect the motor wires the motor winds up like the throttle trim is off. so i adjust the trim and it has no affect. but if i hit the brakes the motor will stop. thats the only control of the esc i have when the motor is connected.

Has this ESC ever worked corretly?
Is it new or used?

When calibrating, the TX must be set to:

Throttle EPA's to 100%
Throttle trims (and subtrims) to 0
Then calibrate.

As to firmware, I like V1.28 although some of the newer versions sound like they work well for crawlers.

What firmware version are you currently using, and which wires are connected to the motor?

i got the esc from a friend but it worked for him in his truck. it works on brushless motors. i am running 1.30 firmware right now. ive tried multiple firmwares though. i am using the red and black wires to the motor. ive tried running red and white as some people have had to do that but that doesnt work at all. if i cant figure this out i might just put this esc in one of my go fast cars

OK, you missed saying it....we all missed asking....... did you change the ESC from brushless mode to brushed mode??

Some ESC firmwares from ~1 year ago needed the red & white wires to go to a brushed motor, early&later firmwares use the "standard" red & black wires from the ESC to motor.

[I'm going to..... ...... if the ESC is still in brushless mode.... ]

did you use regular brushed setting or the high voltage setting? high voltage mode uses all 3 wires, all 3 on neg. and a lead straight from the batt pos. to the motor pos. you lose reverse in hv mode. http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf
