Ok I am checking out the settings on the HH brxl esc and when I turn on the quiet mode my steering servo glitches when turning slow, turning fast no glitch. Turn the feature off and steering as normal returns. The servo, futaba s9452

Yes, you need an external BEC!

Now this only happens in the "quiet mode" I turn off the "quiet mode" and the issue is fixed. I'm hoping John H. will chime in here.

What radio and motor? The higher switching frequency causes more emf noise. Does it happen when sitting still?

It does not make any sound sitting still. Only while turning slowly in the "quiet mode" does it get glitchy,if Turing quickly it does not act the same. I just switched it off and everything went back to normal. My motor is HH torquemaster sport 27, the radio I'm using is a FlySky FS-GT3B.

What is the fix then? Different servo? Hack my FlySky? Different radio all together?

That is a 2.4ghz radio, so there isn't a good reason for the glitch. Filter caps on the motor and a small cap on the RX would be my first try, or another RX if you have one handy. Doesn't have to be much capacitance, .47uf or 4.7uf ceramic caps from radio shack would do the job.

Mr John please check your storefront email as I have sent a couple regarding another issue I experienced. It could be the reason?

I forgot I am using the stock AR-3 axial radio from my wraith, for testing when I was done building the chassis. It still is a 2.4 radio

Try moving the RX and/or RX antenna away from the ESC & motor wires? That is where most of your RFI & EMI would come from.

Are your motor brushes arcing? The arcing creates a bunch of nasty "electrical noise" that messed with AM/FM radios, thus the need for caps. The same noise can potentially mess with 2.4ghz, although not as much of an issue.

I do think that the way the motor sits it is to close to the not that holds the 4link/nerf bar but I can drive around just fine. I am going to try and turn on the "quiet mode" again and see if maybe I had some odd setting?

Why not just keep "quite mode" disabled?

I love Quiet mode, so I know why you want to use it.

You try caps on the motor or RX yet? I still haven't found a good reason for the problem, nor have I heard of it before now. I would need to put an oscilloscope on your system to see what's up.

What is your BEC voltage?

BEC voltage,,that I do not know. I looked when I was using the castle link and did not see the option the to make adjustments in the software, do I have that option with the castle link? Or are you saying I need an external BEC with this esc, I was under the impression there was one onboard. Am I wrong?

The first person in the thread said you need a BEC. You said you had one. Now you don't?

You need a BEC. Not the one built in to the ESC.
