Try the search though, it gets old seeing the same thread pop up once a day

FlySky fsgt-3b they are only 40-60 bucks then you can get the losikid hack and it'll be every bit as good any other radio on the market for under $100.

For the money the 4pl is hard to beat.

That depends on if the new radio uses the same protocol as your existing radio.

I've had a Flysky GT3C and I apologize to the people who own this or the B series...looks cheap, feels cheap. Mine crapped out on it's third time out. That was the first and last cheap radio system for me. Since '88, I've always owned Futaba and for a brief time, Airtronics. There are areas in the r/c hobby where you can get away with cheap stuff...radio systems and lipo chargers are not one of them.

I have run a hacked GT3B for 1.5 years, no issue and it was slammed hard once (I fell backwards off a rock at the NE Qualifier this year), radio still worked fine.

Every other ground RC radio I've used since ~1976 has been a Futaba. I've had one issue in that time (throttle pot went flaky), not bad for ~5 radios and lots of use.
Yes, I still have them all (from the aluminum box with gold textured vinyl wrap to a 3PM-X) and most still get used.

Yes, the GT3B/C is an inexpensive radio, hacked it's a cheap capable 8 channel radio.

OP, part to consider is, how many rigs off one TX. Some RX's can be expensive when you add rigs.

That would be because the power switch broke...which is easily fixed.

That's exactly what happened. But only on it's third use?? Sorry, but my point was proven. I should have known better but sooo many people were saying how great this system is. Then there's the hacked flysky's...if I ever have a need for 8 channels in a rig, I have a Futaba T8J.

The first manufacturing runs of the GT3C had issues with the power button failing after the first few times...the prototype units didn't have this issue.

Flysky has been working on this issue, i think its been cured but i haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

There's a thread I was reading earlier on a different site where someone asked if it has been resolved. All the responses say that they have bought theirs within the last six months and have no problems.

OK, point given.

Then again, my son bought a Futaba 4PL, it didn't do what it seemed it should in programming.
He had to send it in (his/my dime for shipping) to get a free update.
Now it works great........ so, I should be "OK" with slamming a "Over $100 radio" that didn't work as it should have??

Yes, Futaba did a free fix...... after we paid shipping out and had no access to a BRAND NEW (expensive) radio for close to 2 weeks?

As stated before, I love Futaba, but I had sticker shock when I wanted to add a RX to my 3PM-x (my 1st 2.4ghz radio).

Until recently, I could buy a hacked GT3B (8 channels with mixing, etc.) for about the cost of a single 3PM-X RX.
We are running 3 FlySky radios (on crawlers) in this house (1 Futaba 4PL on a crawler), no issues thus far.

I will support Futaba (I have lots of their product) but also have to support the GT3B/C.

It's your money, do what you chose, either radio is worth looking at.
I would buy either.

I'm not here to slam, just to put forth another view.

PS.....one issue does not "prove" squat.....if it did, likely 90% of what you see/deal with in life would not exist.

May be a valid point.

Sorta depends on where they bought from.

Some sites get the early releases and don't move product, thus what is sold is the original batch (see my other post regarding the Futaba 4PL..... some "new bought" 4PL's did not have the crawler update released close to 2 years ago............ ).

My last GT3C buy was ~4 months ago, no issues thus far.

PS, if you like slamming a cheap alternative, it's your choice. Nothing wrong with that, but expect others to counter what you post, Hmmmm OK??!!
