| Servo help...
Lost my o-ring/gasket(s) on my Solar 772 servo case. Not only do they help seal... that need be there to act as a compression seal. Keeping the cases from compressing too much. HobbyPartz doesn't offer any parts/help Not sure what other servo(s) are the same size... and am tired of trying to figure out which Traxxas servo gasket will work. Sooo... was wondering if I could make my own gasket using Plastic Dip spray ? would loosen the screws some... and pull the cases apart slightly... then tape off the area... and spray into the void (seam) If I let that dry fully... When I go to tighten up the screws holding the servo cases together... Wouldn't the plastic dip act similar to the original gasket(s) ? Was planning to spray the entire servo case with PD afterwards when the case is resealed. any thoughts ? anyone have a fried Solar 772 laying around !? Lol (prolly not) |

You're still playing with that thing huh? I have an idea that might work. Those o-rings are thin as hell. What if you put kite string in place of the o-rings, screw it down, check operation. If all is good, then do the plasti-dip. Otherwise, go with my original suggestion and just buy another one. They're cheap enough.

The thin o ring compresses to damned near nothing so I wouldn't get too worried about it. Just screw it together and plastidip the whole thing.

But already tried to tightened the screws holding the servo case together... and the servo gears/mtr. bind the operation badly. Maybe I'll try the kite string idea. that or I'll figure out which WP Traxxas servo is the same size. TRA2075 seems closest in size that I can see. | |

If you still have the old torn o ring why not slap t in there with a dab of silicone at the split spot. Problem solved.

Why not try a small rubber band.
