Default good inexpensive speed controller

Hello, I'm going to be putting a HH brushless in my Ridgecrest but I need to get a speed controller. I have Tekin RX8 in my Revo and Summit and really like that controller but isn't that kind of overkill for the ridgecrest? Is there a good easy to use speed controller for a bit less $$ than the RX8?

And full programability via castle link, including a great drag brake.

Ordered! I have the field programmer because I also have a BRXL ... I never had good luck with the field programmer I'm 100% sure it is ME not the programmer but making adjustments was not successful for me...EVER. If I need to make adjustments hopefully things go better for me.

thanks for the help, very much appreciated.

I agree the interface on the field programmer is not intuitive, it does take a minute to figure out all the pushes and flashes. There are adjustments that the software can do, that the FP cannot. Like motor direction, and reverse power (among others).

You made a great choice, I have one of the original MMPs that is still going strong. It's served time in my Pro4, 1/8e, Pro2, ModTC, LCC, and now scaler in the 4 years I have had it. I think it is easily one of the best of the best crawling ESCs, just wish it was not so big. Probably one of the best $90 I have spent in RC purchases.

Though I decased a used one I recently got with a busted case, it is working very well. And a MUCH smaller footprint.

Very cool, I'm a huge fan of the RX8 but I just felt that it was overkill for this rig, also kinda pricy. Hopefully my mmp will serve me well, I know people do really like them. The RX8 is just so easy to use. Happy crawling!
